Opioid Litigation
This site houses information to help Utah communities understand opioid settlement funds, and to report on the programs that are supported using these dollars. The legal agreements address litigation over the role of companies in creating and fueling the opioid epidemic. These nationwide settlements were reached to resolve all opioids litigation brought by states and local political subdivisions against pharmaceutical distributors and manufacturers.
In the coming years, there will be information available here on breakdowns of spending and results of projects as they are reported to the Office of Substance Use and Mental Health (SUMH) within the Utah Department of Health and Human Services.

Legislative Sessions
The most recent legislative appropriations distributed $1.5 million in state settlement funds directly to community organizations that focus on recovery support services, housing supports, prevention, and pregnancy-related services. These appropriations will be managed through the Department of Health and Human Services, with grantees being funded and evaluated over three-year increments.
