Supported Employment

Individual placement and support

Employment is prevention, treatment and recovery!

People with mental health conditions and co-occurring substance use disorders, who are working in competitive, integrated and meaningful employment settings, may have an increased sense of purpose, higher self-confidence, and improved social acceptance.

Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is an evidence-based supported employment model for people with mental health conditions and co-occurring substance use disorders. IPS supported employment helps people find competitive, integrated and meaningful employment. Mainstream education and technical training are also included to advance career paths. IPS is based on 8 principles.
